A Tale of Tines with Dr. Monet Gomes Goethlich

Found yourself admiring Schmeeckle’s 10-point bucks? Join UWSP’s new ungulate ecologist, Dr. Monet Gomes Goethlich, to discover the purpose and biology behind deer antlers.
Dr. Monet Gomes Goethlich is a new faculty member and ungulate ecologist in the College of Natural Resources. She is originally from Fresno, California and earned her B.S. in Biology at Fresno State University. She earned an M.S. and recently completed her Ph.D. at Auburn University, where she researched white-tailed deer testosterone, antlers, and sexual selection. Since moving to Point, she has taught Ungulate Ecology and Management and Wildlife Techniques and is a committee member of Wisconsin’s Elk Advisory Board.
The program is free and all ages are welcome. The program will meet at the Schmeeckle Reserve Meeting Room at 2419 North Point Drive, Stevens Point, WI 54481.
