At first on a cold, grey Sunday afternoon in mid December, the Reserve looks quiet. Linger a little while, though, and you’ll find there’s plenty of life, even on a winter day. Here are some of the folks I met up with yesterday, December 11.
The Kiggins family, and photographer Jordan Walker! (shown above) The four members of the Kiggins family were in the Reserve so that photographer Jordan Walker could get beautiful shots for their holiday cards, some against trees, some with the giant carved chairs of the seasons.
Matt! Matt was out jogging along the Plank Trail, but paused at the Lake Loop intersection for just a moment’s conversation.
Benjamin! Benjamin, carrying a bottle of root beer, was out for a crispy walk around the Lake Loop.
Hunter and Brianna! Hunter and Brianna were heading down the Frog Chorus Trail, hoping to encounter our friendly Schmeeckle deer.
Delaney! As I passed by the Visitor Center, I spied Delaney spotlit in the foyer, making the mopping of the floor look as festive as a holiday dance.
